Home / Managed IT Support

Managed IT support that answers the phone.

Unlimited helpdesk, proactive monitoring, Microsoft 365 managed properly and backups that are actually tested — for businesses from ten users to several hundred.

Managed IT

What's included

One monthly fee per user. No per-ticket charges, no surprise invoices for things you assumed were covered.

Unlimited helpdesk

Phone, email and portal support from UK engineers who know your estate — not a tier-one script reader.

  • Unlimited tickets
  • Remote and on-site
  • Named lead engineer
  • 08:00–18:00, out-of-hours optional

Proactive monitoring

Agents on every managed device watching disk, patching, backup status and security events, so most faults are fixed before you notice.

  • 24/7 device monitoring
  • Automated patching
  • Disk and health alerts
  • Monthly service reporting

Microsoft 365 & Azure

Licensing supplied and managed, tenants configured properly, and Exchange, SharePoint and Teams set up the way your business actually works.

  • Licence supply & optimisation
  • Tenant hardening
  • SharePoint & Teams design
  • Azure and virtual desktop

Backup & recovery

Backup for servers, endpoints and Microsoft 365 — with a documented test restore, because an untested backup is a rumour.

  • Server & endpoint backup
  • Microsoft 365 backup
  • Documented test restores
  • Recovery time objectives agreed

Starters and leavers

New starter and leaver requests handled to a fixed process, so accounts are ready on day one and closed the day someone leaves.

  • Account provisioning
  • Device build & despatch
  • Same-day offboarding
  • Licence reclaim

IT reporting

A monthly pack showing tickets raised and resolved, response times against target, patch compliance and open risks.

  • Performance against SLA
  • Patch and backup compliance
  • Asset and licence register
  • Quarterly review meeting
How it works

From first call to fully supported

Onboarding is where most IT transitions go wrong. Ours is a documented process with a fixed end date.

1

Free IT review

We audit your support, security, network and licensing, then give you a written findings note — yours to keep either way.

2

Documented handover

We record every device, licence, password and supplier, and agree a cutover date with your outgoing provider.

3

First 30 days

Monitoring agents deployed, backups verified, obvious risks closed and staff introduced to the helpdesk.

4

Steady state

Proactive support, monthly reporting and a quarterly review that looks forward, not backward.

Service levels

Our response targets, in writing

Agreed with you in writing before anything is signed. Ask any other provider for theirs and see how long it takes.

PriorityWhat it meansResponse targetOn-site if needed
P1 CriticalBusiness down — no email, no server, no network, no site access1 working hourSame working day
P2 HighA team or a critical function is blocked, with no workaround2 working hoursNext working day
P3 MediumOne user blocked, or a fault with a workaround in place4 working hoursWithin 3 working days
P4 LowRequests, changes, new starters, questions1 working dayScheduled to suit you

Targets apply during helpdesk hours, Monday to Friday 08:00–18:00. Out-of-hours and 24/7 cover available as an option. Final targets are confirmed in your service agreement.

Beyond the helpdesk

Advice comes with the contract

We don't sell consulting as a separate product with a day rate attached. It comes with the relationship — because a provider who only fixes what breaks is a provider who never tells you what to stop paying for.

IT strategy & planning

A three-year view tied to what the business is actually planning — headcount, sites, systems — with the spend forecast alongside it, reviewed with you each year.

Digital transformation

Moving off on-premises servers, consolidating systems, or rolling out Teams and SharePoint properly. Planned before it's started, and sequenced so nothing critical moves on a Friday.

Technology audits

An independent read on infrastructure, licensing, security and supplier contracts, ranked by risk and cost to fix. If a recommendation is expensive we say so, and set out the cheaper option and what you lose by taking it.

Procurement & vendors

Specifying and negotiating hardware, software and connectivity, then holding suppliers to what they promised. We'll tell you when the right answer is a supplier that isn't us.

On a managed agreement this is included. As a standalone piece of work — an audit before you change provider, say, or due diligence on an acquisition — it's quoted as a fixed price against an agreed scope, and the written deliverable is yours to keep either way.

Why SEG Core

What makes this different

No per-ticket billing

One monthly fee per user. Raising a ticket never costs you extra, so your team actually reports problems.

A named engineer

Someone who has walked your site, knows your server room and doesn't need the story retold every time.

Response targets in writing

P1 to P4 targets set out below and confirmed in your service agreement before anything is signed.

We own the physical layer too

If the fault turns out to be a patch lead, a switch or a power supply, that's still us. No handoff to another supplier.

Backups you can prove

Documented test restores, not a green tick on a dashboard nobody checks.

Exit without hostages

Your documentation, licences and tenant admin are yours. If you ever leave, we hand them over cleanly.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does managed IT support cost?
It depends on what's included, the age of your estate and how much on-site work you need — which is why a headline per-user figure tells you very little. We set out the seven things that move the number on our pricing page, and give you a fixed quote after the free IT review.
Do we have to move everything at once?
No. Co-managed arrangements are common — we take the helpdesk and monitoring while your internal person keeps the projects, or the other way round. We'll shape it around what you already have.
What happens if something breaks outside office hours?
Standard cover is Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00. Out-of-hours and 24/7 options are available and priced separately, so you only pay for cover you actually need.
How long is the contract?
We'll quote 12-month terms as standard with a rolling option after that. We don't use long tie-ins to keep clients who want to leave.
Do you support Macs as well as Windows?
Yes. Mixed estates are normal — we support Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices under the same agreement.
Can you take over from our current provider?
Yes, and we do it regularly. We handle the handover conversation, document what we receive and flag anything that's missing before cutover rather than after.
