Privacy notice
How SEG Core Ltd collects, uses and protects personal data. Last reviewed 24 August 2026.
Who we are
SEG Core Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England & Wales under company number 16544131. Our trading address is SEG House, 192 Watford Road, Chiswell Green, St Albans, Herts AL2 3EB.
If you have any question about this notice or about how we handle your personal data, contact us at hello@segcore.co.uk or on 01727 822 833.
What we collect
We collect only what you give us. When you complete an enquiry form on this website, that is:
- Your name
- Your company name, where you provide it
- Your email address
- Your telephone number, where you provide it
- The approximate size of your organisation and the type of enquiry you select
- Anything you choose to write in the message field
When you submit an enquiry form we also record the approximate location and network the enquiry came from — for example "St Albans, England" and your internet provider or organisation — so that we know roughly where our enquiries originate and can spot automated spam submissions.
Website visits
When you view a page on this site we record the page, the time, and the approximate location and organisation associated with the network you are connecting from. The organisation is worked out from your IP address: businesses with their own internet connection usually resolve to the business name, while most visitors resolve simply to their internet provider.
We do not identify individuals. We cannot tell who you are, we do not know your name or email address unless you give them to us, and we do not build a profile of you. We also do not store anything at all on your device — this site sets no cookies, and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: understanding which organisations and areas are interested in our services, so we can judge whether our marketing is reaching the right businesses. We have assessed this against your interests and rights and concluded the impact is minimal, because no individual is identified and nothing is placed on your device. You can ask us to stop — see "Your rights" below — and we will.
Visit records are kept for no more than 12 months and are then deleted automatically. If you would rather not be included at all, enable "Do Not Track" in your browser and this site will not record your visit.
Please don't include sensitive personal data — health information, financial details or anything similar — in a website enquiry form. It isn't the right channel for it.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, to prepare a quotation or proposal where you have asked for one, and to keep a record of the conversation.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — specifically, responding to a business enquiry that you initiated. The website form is handled by our hosting platform, Netlify, which acts as our processor: submissions are stored in our Netlify account and emailed to us, and Netlify may process the data outside the UK under its published safeguards. Where we go on to work together, our basis becomes performance of a contract. Where we send marketing communications, we do so only on the basis of your consent or the soft opt-in permitted under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and every message carries an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Form delivery. Enquiry forms on this site are delivered to our inbox by a third-party form-handling service, which processes the submission in transit.
- Email and business systems. Our email, document storage and customer records are hosted on Microsoft 365.
- Website hosting. This website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which processes standard server logs.
- IP lookup. To work out the approximate location and organisation described above, your IP address is checked against a third-party geolocation service. The result — a town and an organisation or provider name — is what we keep; the lookup service does not receive anything else about you.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Where your data is held
Our business systems are hosted within the UK and European Economic Area wherever possible. Where a provider transfers data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by an International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
Website visit records are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted automatically. Enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted, so that we have context if you come back to us. Records relating to clients are kept for the duration of the relationship and then for six years, in line with our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Ask us to delete data where we have no continuing reason to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
- Ask for your data in a portable format, in certain circumstances
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis
To exercise any of these, email hello@segcore.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection and encrypted transmission. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously — it is, after all, what we do for a living.
