The challenge
Landmark Underwriting's new building at Leadenhall Market had two very different jobs to do. The ground floor would trade as a public cafe and retail unit; the floors above would be a private underwriting office. That meant a security boundary that had to hold without a guard on every door — and an office that still needed its network, connectivity and furniture before anyone could move in.
What we did
We audited the building before specifying anything, then delivered it as one project rather than several contracts. On the security side, Verkada access control with tailgating detection flags anyone following a colleague through a controlled door, and cameras cover the retail frontage and the office floors as separate zones. Alongside it, SEG Core handled the office fit-out: workstations and desking, structured cabling, enterprise-grade Wi-Fi, the internet connection and the firewall.
- Two zones — public and private — managed from one platform
- Tailgating flagged in real time at controlled doors
- Cabling, Wi-Fi, connectivity and firewall delivered by the same team
The outcome
The building opened on schedule with security and IT working from the first day, and the client dealt with one team for the doors, the cameras and the network rather than coordinating separate suppliers.
